Meet the Team

Nicole Bastiaanse-Fritch
Artist & Owner

I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember—and teaching it for over 23 years. My artistic journey is rooted in a deep love of painting, a passion that has carried me through decades of creative exploration and connection.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Painting, Drawing, and Digital Media from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and had the privilege of studying classical techniques at the Leo Marchutz School of Painting and Drawing in Aix-en-Provence, France. These experiences shaped not only my artistic style but also my approach to creativity as a lifelong practice.

Alongside my studio work, I pursued a Visual Arts Teaching Certificate from Southern Connecticut State University, a Master’s degree in Holistic Thinking from The Graduate Institute, and a Sixth Year Certificate in Technology Integration from Dominican University. Together, these experiences allow me to thoughtfully blend art, education, and innovation in everything I do.

While painting has always been my primary focus, I’ve found deep joy and fulfillment in live portrait painting at special events such as weddings, religious celebrations, and milestone birthdays. I also specialize in heartfelt, one-of-a-kind pet portraits, faceless and custom home/car/boat portraits—each created to celebrate love, memory, and personal story.

When I’m not in the studio or the classroom, you’ll find me gardening, spending time with my family, and enjoying life with my beloved dogs—always drawing inspiration from the beauty and meaning found in everyday moments.

Molly Kuehl
Guest Experience Coordinator (Live Events)

With a background in Elementary Education, Library Media, and Technology Integration, Molly brings a thoughtful and people-centered approach to live event experiences. A close friend and early supporter who encouraged Nicole to launch NBFritch Art, Molly now assists at select live portrait events as a guest coordinator. During events, she helps welcome guests, take reference photos, and gather details so Nicole can focus on painting. Outside of events, Molly enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and dogs, or curling up with a good book—always finding inspiration in stories, both visual and written.
