Meet the Team
Nicole Bastiaanse-Fritch
Artist & Co-Founder
I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember—and teaching it for over 23 years. My artistic journey is rooted in a deep love of painting, a passion that has carried me through decades of creative exploration and connection.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Painting, Drawing, and Digital Media from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and had the privilege of studying classical techniques at the Leo Marchutz School of Painting and Drawing in Aix-en-Provence, France. These experiences shaped not only my artistic style but also my approach to creativity as a lifelong practice.
I later pursued a Visual Arts Teaching Certificate from Southern Connecticut State University, a Master’s degree in Holistic Thinking from The Graduate Institute, and most recently, a Sixth Year Certificate in Technology Integration from Dominican University—blending art, education, and innovation into everything I do.
While painting has always been my primary focus, I’ve recently found deep joy and fulfillment in live portrait painting at special events such as weddings, religious celebrations, and milestone birthdays. I also specialize in heartfelt, one-of-a-kind pet portraits and custom home portraits—each one a celebration of love, memory, and personal story.
When I’m not in the studio or the classroom, you’ll find me gardening, spending time with my family, and enjoying life with my many pets—especially my dogs, who bring me endless inspiration and joy.
